August 30, 2010 - Many changes happen and challenges come with them. We have decided to move to the Lloydminster, AB area and Kelly will be continuing with his current employer there while Brandon and I remain here in Fairview until he finishes Grade 12. We have very excited about the opportunities in Lloydminster and I look forward to relocating with Kelly as soon as possible. In the meantime, I will be continuing with my job as well as my dog grooming business in the evenings/weekends to keep busy thru the winter.
July 28, 2010 - All horses have now been sold! We have listed our house with Royal LePage of Fairview and will now focus on the task of selling our farm. I received a wonderful birthday present from Kelly......a PUG! He is CKC registered as Rakaro's Top Contender and I will be getting back into the dog show world as a hobby and possibly breeding CKC registered Pugs in a year or so. July 20, 2010 - We got sad news today! Our very special "Murray Horse", Samantha, passed away this afternoon in her sleep at the ripe old age of 26. She was used and loved by many people and will be missed! July 19, 2010 - We now have sales pending on ALL our remaining horses. They should all be at their new homes by the end of July. Sad.....but happy too as all horses found long-term loving homes! Now we are on to new adventures and will be re-locating once our farm sells. Thanks to everyone who has supported us as this was a once in a lifetime educational experience and one that we will never forget! I will be endevouring to get back into the dog show circuit (both conformation and obedience) as well as breeding again so I'm not going to be living a life without any sort of animals :) . July 8, 2010 - Apollo and Kiko both left today for their long journey home to Saskatchewan. Apollo will be used as a herd sire for foundation QH's and Kiko is going to be trained under saddle if all goes well. July 1, 2010 - Happy Canada Day everyone! The Online Auction was a success! We accepted a few offers on the horses listed but still have a few left to find homes for. Check out the various pages and feel free to inquire. June 27, 2010 - Bidding is going well on the horses that we have listed on the Hodgins Online Auction. We have bids on Apollo, Sinatra, Sammy, Breezy and Yukiko so far!!  SOOOOO.....if anyone is interested in these horses please go to the Sales Page for information on how to bid as all our horses have to go!!June 15, 2010 - Donte made his new home with Rose in Spirit River. He now has a special friend that he has taken under his wings.....a yearling TB filly that was very scared. I'm so happy Donte found a great forever home! June 6, 2010 - We had a very successful week! We took the Murray Horses back to their farm where they have made friends with the cows who will be their pasture mates. This weekend also saw Charm and Aurora go to their new home together and Pride leave for his new home where he is going to be used as a gymkanna and pleasure mount. May 30, 2010 - Great new today. Peppy and her foal Willow will be going today to a lady who specializes in horse therapy so Willow will get the leg therapy that she needs and a chance at a long healthy life! I know Peppy and Willow will be very happy in their new home! May 24, 2010 - I love the saying "Life Changes In A Heartbeat". The decision has been made to sell the horses and the farm. It was a hard decision but we will be moving into town and will be looking at travelling a lot more in the future. When this move will happen? That is the question. However, in anticipation of this big move I will be selling all the horses so that we are ready for it when it does happen. I will be holding onto 3 horses until the end of July as we have family coming up to visit who want to ride the horses and see a foal.....then after that they will also be listed as available. We will keep everyone posted as things happen!! May 13, 2010 - I am happy to say we have found a great home for Donte if everything works out. He should be going to his new home in Spirit River on or around June 15, 2010. He'll be with other yearlings and get loads of attention. Rose has purchased horses from us in the past so I know he'll have a great home with her and her grandchildren to dote all over him! May 5, 2010 - The long wait is over! Breezy foaled an absolutely perfect dark bay / smoky black tobiano colt at 11:00am! He is built like his dam and got the pizzaz from his sire. The main thing tho is that he is strong, straight and healthy. BJ will be available for sale once weaned. A deposit will hold. Go to Foals Page for more pics and info. May 1, 2010 - We are happy to announce the arrival of Filly #2 "KOD Lil Ms Sunshine" aka "Sunshine" born to DH Shez Smokin Gold and Honoree. Strong, healthy, straight and already running circles around her mom.....just like a good barrel prospect should! Kali and Sunshine are already sold but we'll get to enjoy them for a month before their trip home to Prince George, BC. April 30, 2010 - Well, we've accomplished our goal in downsizing our broodmare band to 4. It was a hard decision, but we have now sold our TB mare, Intuitor, to an established Arabian breeding facility where Indy will be used as a broodmare to produce nothing short of amazing Anglo-Arabian endurance prospects. Cliff had his eye on Intuitor when I initially brought her home from the lower mainland last fall and is absolutely thrilled to be able to add her to his program. In other news, we are proud to say that Chevy Acres is now a Lifetime Member of the Foundation Quarter Horse Association. We also hold memberships with the American Quarter Horse Association and the American Paint Horse Association. April 21, 2010 - Sinatra has finished his early 2010 breeding bookings and we already have a confirmed pregnancy by ultrasound! We have opened up 2-3 more bookings for pasture breeding only from May 15-Aug 15, 2010. Check out Sinatra's page for more information. April 10, 2010 - We're anxiously awaiting the arrival of Breezy's foal. She's starting to show signs....relaxed rear end, loose tail, full udder, restlessness and kicking. UPDATE: April 30, 2010 - Breezy is keeping her foal a BIG secret! We're still waiting and she is SOOOO uncomfortable and more than ready! April 3, 2010 - It was auction day today and we came home with an incredible find! An 11 yr old grade sorrel paint mare that is kid broke and quiet. Check out Roxy on our Riding Horses page. UPDATE: April 6, 2010 - I took Roxy for her first ride and she was awesome! March 31, 2010 - Captains Peppy Leo (Peppy) has been confirmed in foal via ultrasound to Leos Perfect Ghost. Peppy was bred on March 2/10 so her expected foaling date will be close to February 8, 2011. Little Willow will have a guaranteed 91.015% foundation QH palomino or buckskin half brother or sister early next year! |
